Capital Community College is Looking for Instructors
1/8/2008 4:21:00 PM
The "Certificate" programs and a pending Associate Degree Program (both centering on Insurance and Financial Services) are part of a very large federal grant awarded to the state of CT a couple years ago. This is a terrific opportunity for employers, and really, our industry, because the objectives of the grant answer to some critical needs we all share. Specifically, the "certificate" programs seek to further professional skills development for employees in the Insurance and Financial Services Sector, and in part, give dislocated workers and career changers an opportunity to develop knowledge about the industry that will facilitate employment for them in our industry. In the Fall of 2008, the Associate Degree program will be launched. Capital Community College seeks to reach out to experienced professionals in the insurance industry to teach the "certificate" program courses. You do not need a Masters Degree or a Doctorate. Some teaching experience is preferred, but is not necessary. In some instances, there is a need for the instructor (with the help of the college) to develop the curriculum for the course. Pay rate for teaching a class ranges between $50 and $60 an hour, depending upon experience. For folks who always wanted to dabble in teaching, this is a terrific opportunity as you will see that time commitments are not overwhelming. We are looking for instructors for the following classes (dates and times are included in parentheses) * Legal Environment for Insurance, Banking and Financial Services (02/27-03/10, MW, 8:30AM-4:30PM) * Foundation of Risk Management (04/09-04/21, MW, 8:30AM-4:30PM) * Effective Selling for Increased Profit (05/05-05/07, MW, 8:30AM-4:30PM) * Intro to Ins., Banking & Financial Services (02/20-03/17, MW, 5-8:30PM) * General Insurance Certificate (INS 21,22 and 23)(03/11-05/22, TTH, 9AM-Noon) * Intro to Ins (P&C and Health)(06/24-06/26, TTH,8:30AM-4:30PM AND/OR 07/14-07/22, MW, 5-8:30PM) If you are interested in this program, please contact Michelle Phelan at mphelan1001@gmail.com. |
